Art Originals Series

The Art Originals Series, a new concept for the Toronto art market, offers comics and illustration enthusiasts a unique opportunity to interact with their favorite creators on a number of levels over the space of a single weekend in Canada’s largest city. Some of the most celebrated comics and illustration artists of the modern era will take part in workshops, exhibitions and symposiums that will revolve around themes central to their work.

Patrons of the event will also have the opportunity to purchase sketches or commissions directly from the artist including any of the exhibited works, gain new insight into the artist’s creative process and share their passions and experiences with like-minded enthusiasts.

Whether it’s the latest project from today’s hot and in vogue contemporaries, a look back at the 80's with iconic alternative artists or a retrospective of the golden and silver ages of comic book and illustration art, fans and admirers will have the opportunity to mingle with international artists and illustrators in a variety of settings.

All activities for the Art Originals Series will be held at the historic Gladstone Hotel in downtown Toronto, a favourite with the local arts scene. Voted one of the top 10 Art Hotels in the world by Lux Magazine, the Gladstone has been in operation since 1889 and is the oldest continuously operating hotel in Toronto.
